Rodney Haney has served as Building Official for the City of Winfield, Kansas, for the past 26 years and has more than three decades of experience in construction, inspections, zoning, and municipal code administration. He began his construction career operating a small remodeling business in Garden City, Kansas, before joining the City of Sterling in 1989 as Building and Zoning Official and Utility Meter Technician. In 1992, he moved to Ulysses, Kansas, where he served as Building and Zoning Official before later joining the City of Winfield. Rodney is an ICC Certified Building Official and holds residential and commercial certifications in building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical inspection. He also holds Block & Associates certifications as a General Contractor, Master Plumber, and Master Electrician. Rodney is an honorary member of the Heart of America Chapter of ICC and has held several board positions with the organization. He has also served on ICC committees responsible for plumbing, mechanical, and fuel gas certification and contractor testing.
