Amy Barenklau serves as the Licensing & Permit Supervisor for the City of Lenexa, Kansas, where she supports the administration of the City’s licensing and permitting operations. She has more than 20 years of experience in local government, serving in a variety of building and planning roles, including Administrative Assistant, Permit Technician, and Interim City Planner. She is a certified Permit Technician and is actively involved with several professional organizations, including the Kansas City Metro Association of Permit Technicians, Kansas City Metro Chapter of ICC, PermitTechNation, and the Heart of America Chapter. Amy is also currently serving her second term on the International Code Council’s Permit Technician Exam Development Committee.
